TV Review: TRUE BLOOD: Season 3, Ep.13: Evil is Going On

The season 3 finale of True Blood, entitled Evil is Going On – did almost everything right, chief among them being leaving seven unanswered questions for the next season of the show to answer.

Is Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley) leaving town, what looks like for good?

Did Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) really shoot his brother in the back? I doubt it. He is not that cold blooded.

What will happen with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and the other Fairies? Where did she go?

Will Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer)  beat the Queen in their fight?

The biggest surprise was the turn Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten)’s life took in this episode. I hope he is able to take care of all those people. He threw away being a police officer for them. Will he be able to shoulder his huge new responsibility?

Will Maxine Fortenberry (Dale Raoul) kill Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll)? I doubt that. She’s probably accidentally kill Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack) instead and then Jessica will kill in a rage.

What the hell was that thing laying on the floor in Hoyt and Jessica’s house?

I’m looking forward Season Four of True Blood to see how all of this is resolved.  Bill killing Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) was a masterstroke. He is a clever bastard, far more so than I ever gave him credit for. Who knew vampires could mimic other people’s voices. Too bad he couldn’t pull it off Eric’s death. He should have killed Pam (Kristin Bauer) himself, right after dumping Eric. Sloppy.

I am going to miss the King. He was crazy but powerful, charismatic, and funny. Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis) boyfriend turning out to be a witch was just another domino falling. I’m sure it will amount to something more next season.
