First Official Trailer for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Releases

After seeing a few teases, the first trailer for Luc Besson’s new ambitious sci-fi film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is here. We can finally see Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne in action as they portray agents Valerian and Lorelei in this adaptation of the French graphic novels.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets received some positive feedback after footage was shown last summer at San Diego Comic Con. Fans have been waiting for a full trailer to come out and now we finally have it online. The teaser gives us a visually stunning look at the film and we can see why it was well received. We still don’t know what we can expect from this film or from both of these co-stars, but we still have a lot of time before the film releases next summer for more footage.

The film follows Valerian and Laureline, two special operatives from the government of the human territories who are in charge of maintaining order and peace in the universe. Valerian would rather want to pursue Laureline romantically than a professional relationship. However, Laureline continuously rebuffs him after knowing his history with women. The two of them go on a mission to the intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis filled with thousands of species from different parts of the universe. They have remained peaceful, but not everyone shares the same values in Alpha. So there are some unforeseen forces at work threatening to expose that.

So check out the trailer and let us know what you think.
