Vin Diesel Announces a Riddick Sequel and TV Series

Vin Diesel Riddick

Riddick Sequel and TV Series Based on Franchise in Development. Vin Diesel has been lately in film franchises like Fast and Furious, but he has credit for another character that made him popular, Riddick. Diesel will be taking another crack at the character with a sequel and TV series.

In an Instagram post that the star posted this weekend, Vin Diesel announced plans for Riddick to return to the big screen in another sequel as well as a television series, which takes place in the same universe. In the post, he wrote, “Last night Our company had a party to launch Our TV division. Very exciting. MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe. Next Month, DT begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick… FURIA.”

The actor announced the news after One Race Films’ television division was launched with the first project called Merc City, which will be about a bunch of mercenaries and bounty hunters from the Riddick universe. A TV series would work well to expand on the world of Riddick and introduce some new and old characters from the films. Perhaps even Diesel could probably make an appearance. Diesel also shared that the next film in the franchise would be titled Furia, which is being developed by director David Twohy with a script being written next month. It looks like the next film in the Chronicles of Riddick might be taking place in his home planet based on the title of the next film.
