The Walking Dead: Season 7 Comic-Con Trailer

AMC‘s The Walking Dead: Season 7 TV show trailer from the 2016 San Diego Comic Con stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Austin Nichols, Austin Amelio, Melissa McBride, Katelyn Nacon, and Lennie James. This trailer cleverly doesn’t show the main cast members that were on their knees in front of Negan at the end of Season 6. The trailer shows secondary characters, chiefly Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Sherry (Christine Evangelista), Dwight (Austin Amelio), Enid (Katelyn Nacon), and Morgan Jones (Lennie James).

Producers of The Walking Dead promise that the victim of Negan’s beating will be revealed in the first episode of Season 7.

With that is mind as well as recent casting, The Walking Dead: Season 7 *may* also star Tom Payne, Xander Berkeley, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Andrew Lincoln, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Corey Hawkins, Lennie James, Seth Gilliam, Josh McDermitt, Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos, and Ross Marquand.

Not showing the main cast within Season 7 scenes was the correct choice of action. Give those that carefully scrutinize trailers for spoilers nothing to go on. I have not read the comic book series the TV series is based on yet (just a few pages from the first issue). Because of that, when King Ezekiel was introduced, it was a great surprise. I can’t wait to see and learn about that character further.

As was hinted in the last episode of Season 6 (Last Day on Earth), a new group of survivors is introduced into the show in Season 7. This group seems to be made up of moral characters.

Because I unfortunately read YouTube comments months back, the role Sherry (introduced in Always Accountable) now plays in Negan’s camp was alluded to. Her words in this trailer pretty much confirms that suspicion.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead will begin in October 2016. Since there is a series recap hosted by Chris Hardwick on Oct. 16, 2016 at 9 p.m., it’s obvious that Season 7 will premiere after that date. Hardwwick will also be hosting a The Walking Dead season-preview special on Aug. 14, 2016 at 10 p.m.
