The Character Nova Will Be Featured In War For The Planet Of The Apes
War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves confirms that Nova will play a role in the film.
Nova is remembered by fans of the original 1968 science fiction as the mute human woman who also appears in its sequel Beneath the Planet of the Apes. It is unknown how big her role will be in the series as a whole, but Reeves explains that she will serve a very important function in its next installment:
“The battle is not just between the humans and the apes, but in Caesar’s soul,” says director Matt Reeves. “The girl is his pull back to his empathy and — for lack of a better word — his human side.”
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
