James McAvoy Reveals Reason for Xavier’s Hair Loss in X-Men: Apocalypse. The next time we see Professor X on X-Men: Apocalypse, he will be losing a whole lot of hair. But how will that happen? James McAvoy has spilled some details on why the leader of the X-Men is going bald.
At his appearance on the Graham Norton Show, James McAvoy was asked about his new bald appearance and the reasoning behind it. Obviously the reason was for his return as Professor Xavier in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, and his response seems to suggest that. The actor replied: “He ends up going through something so horrible and painful that he literally half pulls his hair out half… it falls out. I just sh*t myself because I know, Fox Studios who own me might be angry with me for sharing that.”
Well, based on that leaked footage from San Diego Comic Con earlier this year, a lot of fans may think that is the case. Professor X was shown to be using Cerebro to locate Apocalypse, which could have something to do with his hair loss. Until we see an actual trailer, we can’t confirm that any of this is true.
