Bryan Singer Says Fox’s X-Men Series Will Be Family Drama
X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer describes Fox‘s planned X-Men spin-off series as “a family drama” that will focus on the interaction between its characters.
As fans of 20th Century Fox‘s long-running film franchise will know, Singer has been involved with the series since the very beginning. Not only did he direct the original X-Men film and X2, he also penned scripts for both and served as an executive producer on the latter production. As if this wasn’t enough, he returned for the second wave of films starting with First Class, which he helped produce and write, before directing Days of Future Past and the previously-mentioned Apocalypse.
Contrasting the upcoming series from the films as well as fellow TV spin-off Legion, Singer explains that the program will feature “effects, powers, and things like that” but mainly revolve around the efforts of the family the show follows to find their place in a world that hates mutants.
