X-Men: Apocalypse Sequel to Might Start Shooting in 2017 with Bryan Singer Possibly Returning. X-Men: Apocalypse doesn’t come out until next year, but fans are wondering what’s next for X-Men franchise. Well, a new report suggests that another film may come in 2018.

So what’s coming after X-Men: Apocalypse? Well, Journal De Montreal broke word that the next installment to the X-Men film series will be heading back to Montreal as early as 2017 to shoot with Bryan Singer returning at the helm. With 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea as the director’s next project, it seems that Singer will be wrapping up filming pretty quickly to tackle the next X-Men film. Plus, 20th Century Fox is looking to continue the franchise, so it makes sense if they want to put this out by 2018, two years after X-Men: Apocalypse. The question we all have in our minds is, what will the sequel be about?

We don’t know for certain, but the only films that the studio is currently developing are X-Force and New Mutants so it’s possible it could be either of those two or a new film altogether. If this report is correct, then it’s more likely that Singer may take on more of a role as a producer as the franchise moves into a new direction with a younger cast and a new director taking the reins. However, this is all speculation until we get confirmation so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
