Brian K. Vaughn to Develop His Comic Book Adaptation Y: The Last Man. It’s been a year since we last heard that FX is developing Y: The Last Man as a TV series. Well, we finally got word that the comic book’s original creator Brian K. Vaughn will be taking the reins to develop the series.

During the Winter TCA Panel, FX CEO John Landgraf announced that we should be hearing something soon regarding Y: The Last Man, but for now, Brian K. Vaughn is leading the development for the direction of the show. According to ComicBookMovie, Landgraf said, “We’ve had a number of producers and writers who really want to participate in that.  Ultimately, it’s Brian’s call who he wants to work with and I think that’ll come out soon.” Vaughn seems to be the right person for the job since he did create the post-apocalyptic comic book series. He also happens to have background in television, working for hit shows like Lost and Under The Dome.

Y: The Last Man follows the only man to have survived a virus that has simultaneously eradicated every male mammal on Earth except for his pet monkey. The series is being produced by Vaughn along with Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson.
