Voice Work Finally Begins On Third Season Of Young Justice
Warner Bros. Animation reveals that it has started recording voice work for the company’s planned third season of Young Justice.
First airing on Cartoon Network in 2011, the DC Comics superhero show ran for two seasons before production abruptly halted on the series. This came as a most unwelcome surprise to the program’s sizeable fan base, which has spent the past few years anticipating its return to the airwaves.
Fortunately for them, production on the long-awaited third season was finally confirmed last year, with Warner Bros. since releasing promotional artwork for the show and cast members like Khary Payton (who plays lead role Aqualad) teasing material for it. All that being said, little has been made public about the season’s plot and what will happen over the course of the show.

Payton will be joined by the show’s co-creators and producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman for the new season, and presumably by much, if not all of the series’ original voice cast, though no official announcements have yet been made. The show’s incarnation of Aqualad, a Black character named Kaldur’ahm and voiced by Payton, was eventually introduced into DC Comics by writer Geoff Johns, first in “Brightest Day” and then in 2016’s “DC Universe: Rebirth” one-shot.
