The Young Pope Trailer 2

The second TV show trailer for Sky Atlantic, Canal, and HBO‘s The Young Pope (2016) has been released. The second promo for the Paolo Sorrentino TV series details what Jude Law faces as the new pope. Because of that fact, this trailer is far more detailed than the first trailer for this TV series. This trailer shows the viewer the multiple enemies that Pius XIII faces, both internal and external. This isn’t the case where the protagonist is his own worst enemy. The Pope’s external enemies are definitely his biggest threat. They want him out, almost by any means. One enemy in particular is a cardinal that was passed over and believes that he should be Pope.

Pius XIII’s plan for the papacy was undisclosed in this trailer. This trailer did disclose the fact that he has a plan.

Since no HBO release date has been revealed, my guess is that The Young Pope won’t be released in the U.S. until 2017.

The Young Pope‘s plot synopsis: “‘The Young Pope’ tells the controversial story of the beginning of Pius XIII’s pontificate. The eight-episode series stars Jude Law as the complex and conflicted Pius XIII (born Lenny Belardo), the first American pope.”

The Young Pope also stars Diane Keaton, Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, Toni Bertorelli, and James Cromwell.
