Assassin’s Creed Trailer 3

20th Century Fox has premiered a third and most illuminating movie trailer for Assassin’s Creed (2016). This trailer, unlikely the first three trailers, goes into why the Templar organization is so intent on acquiring Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender). I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting the reason that was offered in this trailer, having never played the video game that it is based upon. The stakes of those involved in the plot of the film are much higher than I had been expecting.

The uprising that brings up in this trailer (most-likely the third act of the film) now makes sense. The viewer may not have known why it occurred previously but now it is clear.

Assassin’s Creed‘s plot synopsis: based on the video game series by Ubisoft, “Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.”

Justin Kurzel‘s Assassin’s Creed also stars Cali Nelle, Denis Ménochet, Brian Gleeson, Marysia S. Peres, Carlos Bardem, Michael K. Williams, Callum Turner, Matias Varela, Octavia Selena AlexandruAriane Labed, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, and Marion Cotillard.
