Naomi Scott has been cast in Lionsgate and Saban Brands’ “Power Rangers” as the pink Power Ranger

Katie Aselton is in final negotiations for the female lead alongside Ed Helms and Owen Wilson in Alcon Entertainment’s comedy “Bastards”

Moana

Auli’i Cravalho has been cast in the title role of Disney’s latest animated film, “Moana”

The newcomer will voice the role of an adventurous teenager opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the film

The big-screen adventure follows a spirited and fearless teenager named Moana (voice of Cravalho) who, with help from demi-god Maui (voice of Johnson), sets out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder.

Stronger

Tatiana Maslany is in early talks to co-star with Jake Gyllenhaal in Lionsgate’s Boston Marathon bombing drama “Stronger.”

Pic tells the true story of Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman, who lost both legs in the attack.

David Gordon Green recently signed on to direct the pic. John Pollono has adapted the script for “Stronger,” which marks his full-length feature debut.

“Stronger” is based on the book by Bauman and Bret Witter. It details the aftermath of the 2013 attack at the marathon finish line, where Bauman had been cheering for his girlfriend, who will be played by Maslany.

Imperium

Toni Collette, Homeland‘s Tracy Letts and Sam Trammell have joined the cast of Daniel Ragussis’ Imperium

Collettte will play Angela Zampino, a battle-hardened FBI agent. Letts will take on the role of Dallas Wolf, a modern-day leader of the white supremacy movement. Trammell will play Jerry Conrad, a covertly average father in suburbia who, in actuality, is the local Ayran Youth recruiter.


Megan Leavey

Edie Falco is set to co-star opposite Kate Mara (The Martian, Fantastic Four) in the indie biopic Megan Leavey for director Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Blackfish)…Falco will play the role of Jackie Leavey, Megan’s mother.

Aloha Santa

George Lopez has signed star in Aloha Santa…Lopez will play Chris Cringle, the lazy, immature adopted son of Santa who inherits the Santa Claus role when his father dies. Lacking confidence in his role, he ends up crash-landing in Hawaii when he takes the sleigh out for a test drive days before Christmas. Now he must find a way home in time to make the annual gift deliveries.

it’s directed by Jonathan Yudis (Pocahontas 2), who co-wrote with Adam “Tex” Davis and Mike Davis.

Claire

Hope Davis has joined the romantic comedy Claire, the upcoming remake of Eric Rohmer’s Le Beau Mariage. She joins Hunger Games‘ Jena Malone and Girls’ Alex Karpovsky in the story of an eccentric young woman (Malone) who, fed up with her married lover, decides she ought to get married herself and sets her sights on her best friend’s cousin (Karpovsky), a man she barely knows.

Star Wars: Episode VIII

Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beyond the Lights) is joining the cast. While negotiations can always break down and nothing is official until Disney announces it, we feel confident in our reporting.
