Captain America: Civil War

Spider-Man

Asa Butterfield will presumably make his first appearance in Civil War next May followed by a solo Spider-Man movie with Sony and MCU characters

Marvel was looking for a younger actor to step into the role of Peter Parker to capitalize on a time period in Spider-Man’s life that has been underplayed on screen. This new, younger Peter Parker will be able to spend some time in high school before venturing out into the greater world.

The Emigrants

Daniel Espinosa (Child 44) is set to adapt Vilhelm Moberg’s acclaimed novel The Emigrants…The Emigrants tells the story of Kristina and her husband Karl-Oskar, who emigrate from Sweden to America in the 1850s. Determined to flee poverty, religious persecution, and social oppression, they head across the Atlantic in search of a better life…Petter Skavlan (Kon Tiki) is writing the script

Psycho Killer

screenwriter Andrew Kevin [is writing] Walker’s Psycho Killer, a serial killer thriller…The story follows a nameless murderer, wearing a nightmarish mask, randomly murdering people across the U.S. in an attempt to secure his passage to hell. A patrolman’s pregnant wife, a fellow police officer, witnesses the killer murdering her husband and seeks to bring him to justice. Gavin Polone…is directing.

Three Seconds

David Oyelowo (Selma) has joined the cast of Peaky Blinders director Otto Bathurst’s feature debut Three Seconds opposite the previously announced Luke Evans

Matt Cook and Rowan Joffe have penned the screenplay.

Three Seconds follows the story of a man forced undercover in prison as part of a FBI operation, who then has to escape on his own after he is abandoned during the mission. Oyelowo will play Detective Lt. Edward Grens, an anti-social NYPD detective who quickly begins unravelling the FBI’s operation after the murder of a fellow officer.

Tom’s Dad

Will Ferrell has been set to star in comedy Tom’s Dad for Oscar-nominated director Lasse Hallström.

The story is set in 1960s Nevada, where Arthur (Ferrell) is a struggling nightclub performer hoping to make it big with his stage act that involves circus animals. When his ex-wife departs on a three-week trip, he’s forced to reconnect with his estranged 12-year old son, Tom, leaving the pair to rekindle their father-son relationship. Martin Casella (One Night Stand) wrote the original screenplay with revisions by Clarke.

Blink

Jamie Foxx has been cast in director Noam Murro’s heist movie Blink. Foxx…will play a hospital caregiver whose patient is the victim of a bank robbery who it turns out has ulterior motives.

Blink was a 2014 Black List script by Hernany Perla.

Heaven Sent

Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) has just been cast as the female lead of Edmund Entin and Gary Entin’s Heaven Sent…Gort will play Sarah Fitzpatrick, who discovers her name is missing from a list of people waiting to be admitted to into heaven. Without even being given the time to come to terms with her death, she’s sent back to Earth as an angel to find out why she’s been left off the list — and the only person who can see her is her ex-boyfriend.

The Birth Of A Nation

Katie Garfield has joined the cast of The Birth Of A Nation, written and directed by and starring Nate Parker. She will appear opposite Parker, Armie Hammer as Elizabeth Turner, daughter of plantation owner Hammer and Penelope Ann Miller. Katie’s character develops a friendship with the wife of slave Nat Turner (Parker).

I.T.

Anna Friel will play Pierce Brosnan’s wife and James Frecheville is his nemesis in I.T., a revenge techno-thriller from director John Moore. Brosnan plays Mike Ryan, a self-made businessman whose company is on the verge of changing the aircraft-leasing business when his relationship with a young tech consultant (Frecheville) sours. The dude begins stalking Mike’s daughter (Stefanie Scott) and using technology to threaten his family, his business and his life.

Shadowhunters

Alan Van Sprang has been cast as a recurring guest star in ABC Family’s straight-to-series drama Shadowhunters.

Van Sprang will play Valentine, a mysterious Shadowhunter wielding immense power. His stoic, charming, and confident presence allows him control over his many followers. To seek out what he wants, Valentine executes anyone in his way, never thinking twice about it.

The Forest

Natalie Dormer and Chicago Fire‘s Taylor Kinney star in the film…Jason Zada is making his feature debut based on an original idea from David S. Goyer.

Sarah Cornwell and Nick Antosca wrote the script for The Forest…the story follows Sara, a young American who goes in search of her mysteriously disappeared twin sister. Despite warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, only to be confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead who prey on anyone who wanders that way.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

Gary Anthony Williams has joined the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, where he’ll star as one of the franchise’s longstanding villains, ‘BeBop’. A mutated pig almost always paired off with a fellow mutant, ‘Rocksteady’, Bebop is a henchmen of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle arch villain Shredder (and thus is a quasi-member of the Foot ninja clan.) In TMNT 2, he’ll start off as a punk street thug member of a ragtag gang of misfits who acts as if he’s intellectually superior, but isn’t.

The Magnificent Seven

Matt Bomer has joined the all-star cast of MGM’s remake of The Magnificent Seven.

the new version’s story kicks off when a woman (Haley Bennett) hires a disparate group of gunslingers to protect her town from rampaging bandits that are led by a robber baron.

Bomer will play the woman’s husband, a man who tries to stand up to the robber baron.

Jackie

Natalie Portman has signed on to star as Jackie Kennedy in Jackie, a new biopic from Pablo Larrain

The film will follow the first four days in Jackie Kennedy’s life after the assassination of her husband, President John. F. Kennedy.

The Blob

Samuel L. Jackson will now don a lab coat in Simon West’s remake of 1958 sci-fi classic The Blob.

The thriller…will see Jackson play a biochemistry professor attempting to thwart the other-worldly predator discovered deep within the Earth.

Underworld 5

Kate Beckinsale is back for more Underworld action.

The actress has signed on to reprise her vampire character, Selene, in the fifth installment in the franchise

Directing the movie is Anna Foerster

Cory Goodman wrote the script, whose plot details are being kept shut in a coffin but which is said to focus on a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races.

Theo James…is attached to reprise his character as he fulfills an option agreement.

Fanny’s Journey

Cecile de France will star in “Fanny’s Journey,” a WWII-set drama…directed by Lola Doillon

The movie unfolds during World War II and tells the true story of 13-year-old girl who with her little sisters and eight other Jewish children who were being sheltered and managed to flee to the Swiss border and avoid the deaths camps.

Shinji Aoyama’s True Horror Story

Currently titled “Shinji Aoyama’s True Horror Story,” the film is based on documented events about an estranged Japanese couple who venture into a plantation estate and experience a series of supernatural phenomena.

Shinji Aoyama…will shoot in early 2016

Li Na: My Life

Peter Chan Ho-sun will produce and direct “Li Na: My Life” a biopic of the tennis player who is the only Chinese to have ever won a Grand Slam.

Dog Eat Dog

Nicolas Cage is to star in “Dog Eat Dog,” a crime thriller being directed by Paul Schrader.

Writers are Matt Wilder and Schrader

“Dog Eat Dog” is a contemporary crime thriller about a trio of ex-cons, deep in the underbelly of Los Angeles, who are hired for a kidnapping. When the botched abduction goes awry and gets completely out of control, the cons find themselves on the run, vowing to stay out of prison at all costs.
