The second TV show trailer for The First (2018) has been released by Hulu. This trailer, unlike the first trailer, shows The First to be a broad drama, not a gimmick show with a single-minded focus on getting to Mars. I love that each of the astronauts has a home life that effects them deeply and that going to Mars breaks some of those relationships.
The First‘s plot synopsis: “Any time people venture into the unknown, there is a cost. The First tells the stories of those that would venture there. Set in the near future (2030), this groundbreaking story explores the challenges of taking the first steps towards Mars. Viewers will get an intimate look at the dedicated characters trying to reach the unknown while dealing with the psychological and physical toll it takes to achieve the impossible.”
The First also stars Sean Penn, Rey Lucas, Brian Lee Franklin, T.C. Matherne, LisaGay Hamilton, Hannah Ware, James Ransone, Anna Jacoby-Heron, Oded Fehr, Natascha McElhone, Keiko Agena, Melissa George, and D.W. Moffett.
The First was created by Beau Willimon, and written Willimon, Francesca Sloane and AJ Marechal.
