Steven Spielberg Eyes April 2019 To Begin Shooting Indiana Jones 5

Academy Award-winning Schindler’s List director Steven Spielberg announces that shooting will begin on Indiana Jones 5 in April 2019.

Spielberg candidly revealed the news while speaking at the Empire Awards on Sunday night. He recently wrapped up production on his latest feature, Ready Player One, which is set to come out in a couple weeks. Also of note is his recent work on The Post, which earned critical acclaim as well as several Academy Award nominations.

Set to be the fifth film in the popular adventure series, the planned Indiana Jones movie has no name at this point. It will come a little over 10 years after the previous installment, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, breathed new life into the franchise, although it proved controversial among fans and critics alike.

Superherohype, the source of this story, quotes Spielberg as saying the following about the project before confirming the April 2019 shooting date:

“It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK. The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here,” he said.
