Ciaran Hinds Describes His Character Steppenwolf in Justice League

It’s been confirmed for a while that Irish actor Ciaran Hinds was set to play Steppenwolf in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. We saw his character make an appearance in a deleted scene for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in CGI. Should we expect the same in Justice League?

The Game of Thrones actor spoke with The Independent, where he confirmed his casting as Darkseid’s uncle in the Warner Bros. film. It looks like this version of the character will also be completely CGI. “Basically they’re going to construct something, digitally, and then they will use my eyes and mouth,” Hinds said regarding his role as the film’s primary antagonist. He also added, “He’s old, tired, still trying to get out of his own enslavement to Darkseid, [but] he has to keep on this line to try and take over worlds.”

It was previously rumored that Steppenwolf would be invading Earth in order to find the three Motherboxes left on the planet after battling with the Amazonians, Atlantians, and mankind 30,000 years ago. With the use of CGI, we would be seeing something similar to how Doomsday was portrayed as well as with the upcoming Wonder Woman with Ares. Let’s hope that it will not take away from Ciaran Hinds’ performance in the film. What do you think of this development?
