LOGAN’s Dafne Keen May Return as X-23 in Solo Film

X-23 May Possibly Return in a Solo Feature After Logan

After what transpired in Logan, many fans are assuming that we may see Dafne Keen reprise her role as X-23 in another film in the near future. The studio is already thinking ahead about what to do with the character, but just don’t expect her to be part of another ensemble film.

It’s no one’s guess that we will be seeing Dafne Keen again as Laura/X-23 somewhere down the line, but it might not be in the capacity that one may expect. It was first assumed that 20th Century Fox was looking to reintroduce X-23 as either part of X-Force or New Mutants, but it seems like the studio has other plans for her. In an interview with IGN, producer Hutch Parker said that talks have already begun regarding Laura and having her go on a solo adventure for her next film.

Yeah, I mean, look – I don’t know definitively, but in terms of the stuff we’ve been talking about, it’s not sort of slipping her into the background of another movie. It’s looking at that character, which is a great character and has a pretty interesting run within the comics, to find a story that we think she could carry or certainly be kind of majorly significant within.

That’s the only kind of thing that Jim as a storyteller, a filmmaker… that’s the way his sort of process works. And the way his mind works in terms of what he would aspire to. Which isn’t to say that the studio couldn’t have a conversation about something else, but the one that we’ve been kind of discussing loosely and kicking around is more likely to be its own film.

So will we be seeing X-23’s journey continue beyond Logan? Perhaps the goal here is to find a way to sync up the timelines and have Laura be a part of the main X-Men saga, but we shouldn’t expect to hear anything about that anytime soon. So it seems that we may continue her journey in 2029 for a little while longer. What do you guys think?
