LUCIFER: Fox Orders DC Comics’ TV Show Pilot Episode

Lucifer

Fox Orders Pilot for DC Comics’ Lucifer. It seems that Fox is reportedly striking a deal with the Devil. A TV series based on the character Lucifer from DC’s Vertigo Imprint The Sandman is given a pilot commitment for Fox.

According to Deadline, the one-hour drama will find Lucifer abandoning his throne in Hell for the city of Los Angeles, where he opens an exclusive piano bar called Lux. Lucifer appeared as a supporting character in Sandman before getting his own spin-off. If the series is picked up, this will be Fox’s second DC adaptation after Gotham, which airs this fall.

Californication’s Tom Kapinos will be an executive producer and writer on the project, which Warner Bros. TV will produce alongside with Kapinos’ own production company Aggressive Mediocrity.

This adds to the list of potential DC properties to air in the near future along with Supergirl and Teen Titans if they all get picked up beyond the pilot stage. This season, there are five comic book series that will air including Constantine, Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, and the midseason entry iZombie.
