MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: The Writer of THOR: RAGNAROK set to pen Script

He Man

Christopher Yost hired by Sony Pictures to write Masters of the Universe Reboot. He Man and the Masters of the Universe is an iconic 80s animated TV series and is one of the franchises responsible for the success of TV shows based on marketable toys. Many fans of the series admire the adventures of Prince Adam and his quests to save the planet of Eternia from Skeletor.

Sony Pictures and Escape Artists want to return He Man to the big screen and they recently brought in Christopher Yost to write the script. The principals of Escape Artists, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will be producing the film.

Yost had previously been a writer for several animated series based on comic books, mostly for Marvel, including 2005’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes. He wrote his first major feature film with the 2013 Thor: The Dark World and he is also working on its follow-up, Thor: Ragnarok.

This will be the second time that He Man has appeared on the big screen. Back in 1987, there was a film adaptation of the Mattel toy line called Masters of the Universe, directed by Gary Goddard and starring Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella, Courteney Cox, and Billy Barty. The film flopped both critically and financially. With the Sony Pictures reboot coming don’t be surprised if you suddenly hear in a theatre near you, “I HAVE THE POWEEEEER!!!”
