The Melancholia Movie Trailer has premiered. Lars von Trier‘s Melancholia (2011) stars Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgård, and Charlotte Rampling. Melancholia‘s plot synopsis: Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a party in the home of her sister (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and brother-in-law. Meanwhile, the planet Melancholia, is heading towards Earth. I wish the plot point of Melancholia heading towards Earth was brought out more in this movie trailer. I doubt this film will be as science heavy as the TV movie Impact was but I hope its not left completely at the door step. Obviously the people in the film like looking at the stars but are any of them actually in a science field of some kind? I wonder if this Lars von Trier film will be as explicit as his Antichrist was (which we reviewed here: Antichrist (2009) Film Review). This and The Tree of Life look like two beautiful films coming our way. Watch the Melancholia movie trailer below and leave your thoughts on it.
