Monica Barbaro of This Summer's ONE NIGHT ONLY Comes Aboard OCEAN'S Prequel

Monica Barbaro Cast in Ocean’s Prequel Due Out in 2027

Monica Barbaro, an Oscar-nominated character actress, has joined Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie in Warner Bros.’s forthcoming Ocean’s Eleven prequel.

Oscar-nominee for Best Supporting Actress for A Complete Unknown, Monica Barbaro, is set to co-star in Bradley Cooper’s Ocean’s Eleven prequel which is due out on June 25, 2027. Barbaro shone bright playing Joan Baez in the aforementioned 2024 Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.

The Ocean’s Eleven prequel will center around Danny Ocean’s parents and will set itself at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix, according to IMDb. Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper are signed up to play the lead roles and Barbaro will be joining them in another principal role within the picture.

Wagner Moura of The Secret Agent fame will also be featured opposite Robbie and Cooper in the upcoming Ocean’s prequel. Barbaro’s inclusion in the movie makes the film one that is set to be chock full of Oscar-nominated talent even though the film, itself, feels more like a big summer blockbuster than typical Oscar bait.

Speaking of box-office hits, Barbaro has a comedy coming out this August called One Night Only. Directed by Will Gluck (Easy A), that film revolves around the one night of the year where premarital sex is legal and Barbaro will play the lead role opposite heartthrob Callum Turner (Eternity, Rose of Nevada). Some industry insiders believe that this could be Barbaro’s breakout role being that it is a cleverly plotted rom-com with two bright talents. Gluck previously directed the romantic comedy that featured Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, Friends With Benefits, which was a hit, but One Night Only could be even bigger at the box-office in today’s movie-going climate where original movies tend to breakout at the box-office when they’re really good.

Barbaro has a lot of talent as evidenced by her Oscar nod and she wears a sexy dress in One Night Only which could help make her rise to the top of leading actresses in Hollywood these days. It’s hard not to get early Julia Roberts/Pretty Woman vibes when seeing the type of sex comedy that One Night Only is being marketed as. Barbaro is both sexy and smart in a way that Roberts presented herself to be in Pretty Woman back in 1990 and Roberts ultimately secured an Oscar nod for her work in Pretty Woman.

Whatever happens with One Night Only at the box-office this August, you can rest assured Ocean’s fans will be lining up to see Barbaro just as much as they’ll be lining up to see Cooper, Robbie and Moura. We here at FilmBook expect One Night Only to earn over $100 million at the domestic box-office and officially make Barbaro the national treasure that she was born to be.
