Miles Morales to Appear in Spider-Man Animated Film

Miles Morales is about to make his way to the big screen as Sony Pictures announced that the bi-racial webhead would be a part of the untitled Spider-Man animated feature. Besides Miles Morales, the film will also have a new co-director at the helm.

During a presentation in LA early today, Sony confirmed that their upcoming Spider-Man animated film would focus on Miles Morales rather than Peter Parker. The announcement was made as the studio also debuted some test footage and concept art from the new animated film. Also, Rise of the GuardiansPeter Ramsey will join Bob Persichetti to help direct Miles’ first solo film. It’s also a fact that this will be a standalone film and won’t be connected with the MCU films.

Sony Pictures also made two tweets regarding the new Spidey film, giving the same news from the presentation to the Twitterverse. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are still involved with the film as executive producers and will be writing it together. For those who don’t know, Miles Morales is the new Spider-Man in the comics after Peter Parker’s death. He received positive reactions from fans after his debut in 2011. This also isn’t his first time in animation as Miles made an appearance in Ultimate Spider-Man.

Expect the first animated Spider-Man film to make its way into theaters December 21, 2018. Looks like we will get a visit from our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man just a few days before Christmas next year. Are you excited to see Miles Morales in the new Spider-Man animated feature film?
