Outside of animated TV shows, I never seen a female Sith until Star Wars: The Force And The Fury. Like with all great light saber battles, it was the subtext of the fight that was the real drama, not the fancy sword moves (though they were present). It was never made clear whether Aiden (Aris Juson) was Qira (Deborah Smith) former lover or her father. From the tagline of the poster, I am guessing it was the former.
Leaving people behind for a calling was a theme also covered by the Star Wars stormtrooper short film Jakku: First Wave.
What was curious was that Aiden and Qira both had Force ability yet only one of them went to be trained (like Kara was going to be). Why didn’t they both go?
Other questions are: why does Qira fight with a Jedi’s weapon? Why not use The Force as her primary weapon?
