STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (2017): Title for New Film Revealed

Star Wars Episode VIII To Be Titled The Last Jedi

The next chapter in the Skywalker saga finally has a title as Star Wars: Episode VIII is now being called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The next Star Wars film directed by Rian Johnson seems to have a fitting title, as Daisy Ridley’s character Rey is supposedly the last Jedi in existence.

Lucasfilm made the official announcement on their website and social media pages saying that the next installment in the main Star Wars storyline is called The Last Jedi. Fans have been speculating what the next film after Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be called, but none have guessed that it would be this title. It makes sense to be able to call it The Last Jedi, but it may also have revealed that perhaps Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker may end up having the same fate as his mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi.

If that’s not enough, we also happen to have a teaser poster that gives us the full title of the film with the Star Wars logo in red. The color of the font is usually yellow, so it’s not common to see it in red because it’s usually reserved for the last film. With the title, this may not just mean it’s only one character being the last Jedi. What do you guys think of the title? Are you in favor of it or would you rather see another name for the film?
