The Mandalorian Season 3 Preparations Underway

Preparations for Season 3 of The Mandalorian by Disney+ have already begun. Despite the fact that Season 2 of The Mandalorian has not even premiered yet on Disney+, the streaming service is already anticipating a Season 3 renewal and has begun laying out a third season. The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau is currently writing screenplays for Season 3 and pre-production has been initiated.

Previously announced new cast additions for Season 2 of The Mandalorian include Michael Biehn and Rosario Dawson.

Actor/ comedian Bill Burr, who appeared during Season 1 (Chapter 6: The Prisoner), will return for Season 2 as Mayfeld, “a former Imperial sharpshooter and the point man on [Ranzar “Ran” Malk]’s crew.” Gina Carano‘s Cara Dune and Carl Weathers‘ Greef Karga are also respectively returning for Season 2 of The Mandalorian.

Director Robert Rodriguez is rumored to be directing a segment of an episode (like when Quentin Tarantino directed one scene in Sin City) of The Mandalorian. There is no official confirmation on their directorial attachment to this TV series yet.

Bryce Dallas Howard is returning to the director’s chair during Season 2 to direct an undisclosed episode. She directed “Chapter 4: Sanctuary” of Season 1 of The Mandalorian.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ in October 2020.
