New Photos and Plot Released for Thor: Raganarok

Marvel Studios revealed some new images from Thor: Ragnarok, giving us our first look at Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, Cate Blanchett’s Hela, and more. Not only do we have our first look at the film, we even have a plot for Thor’s third solo outing.

Unveiled by Entertainment Weekly, the first batch of photos gives us an idea of what we can expect when Thor: Raganarok comes out this year. It seems like Thor has chopped off his long locks for a short hairstyle along with some gladiator gear. We also notice that his trusty hammer Mjolnir is missing. Perhaps that has something to do with Bruce Banner and his alter ego Hulk, who are part of the plot for the new film. The film also marks the return of Tom Hiddleston, who plays Thor’s brother Loki. We even have our first look at the new villain Hela, played by Cate Blanchett. Jeff Goldblum also makes his debut in the MCU as Grandmaster. Thor will be getting a new love interest in the film in the form of Valkyrie, being portrayed by Tessa Thompson.

If those images aren’t enough for you, we also have the plot for the film, which is directed by Taika Waititi. Take a look:

After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor, imprisoned on another world without his hammer, must outlive a gladiatorial duel against an old friend — the Hulk— in order to return to Asgard in time to stop the villainous Hela and the impending Ragnarok.
