Production Begins for Tomb Raider Reboot
The film reboot for Tomb Raider has officially begun production as director Roar Uthaug shared a photo at the sets. Assassin’s Creed hasn’t turned out to be the film Hollywood needed to change the trend of bad video game adaptations, but hopefully this new film will do it.
The upcoming Tomb Raider reboot starring Alicia Vikander has officially taken off with director Uthaug posting the first start of filming on Instagram. With production already started, here’s looking forward to seeing our first look at Vikander as the globe-throttling heroine sometime soon. We don’t know how she will look like in the film, but hopefully she won’t be too different from the version in the recent video games. Alicia Vikander is well known for her roles in Ex Machina and The Danish Girl, so seeing her on screen as Lara Croft will be a change of pace for the actress. We hope to see a raw and emotional Lara once we see Vikander step into those shoes. We may even see some set photos pretty soon from the shoot.
Joining Vikander are Walton Goggins as the antagonist and Daniel Wu as ship captain Lu Ren. The film’s story will also be an origin of sorts with the script being written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet. The film takes the date of release from The Flash, which was originally suppose to release but with no director, it’s a mystery as to when it will come out. Anyway, we are still excited to see how Tomb Raider looks and hopefully bring an end to bad video game adaptations.
