Ares May Actually Be Main Antagonist in Wonder Woman

It’s been rumored that the God of War may turn out to be the main villain in the upcoming Wonder Woman film. There hasn’t been any official word that this is true, but a new report suggests that it’s a fact. So will we be seeing the Amazonian princess take on Ares?

Besides showing off some BTS images online, French magazine Studio Cine Live seemed to have confirmed that Ares would be one of the villains in the movie. The magazine spoke with actor Chris Pine stating that the God of War would be utilizing some kind of gas from some formulas that his character Steve Trevor steals from him that can end humanity. From Les Toiles Heroiques, he said:

Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. Now, it turns out that this is precisely the goal of Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (he was killed by Ares when he rebelled against him, with the help of the Amazons)…

Besides Ares, another DC villain named Circe was also rumored to be one of the antagonists in the film. We still don’t know if this is an official confirmation, but it would be really cool for fans if this were really true.
