Lana Condor on What’s Next for X-Men’s Jubilee

After so long, Jubilee finally made her first live-action debut in X-Men: Apocalypse. When the film came out, she wasn’t given much to do since some of her scenes were cut out. Lana Condor spoke about Jubilee’s future in the X-Men film franchise.

Jubilee may be one of the X-Men characters that had a rough journey making it to the big screen. She was featured in the first film, but fans still haven’t seen her or her powers on screen. All of that changed when she was announced to be a part of the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse, but most of her scenes and dialog were cut out from the film not leaving much room for her character in the movie.

Lana Condor recently spoke with Screen Rant on her thoughts on her character not getting enough screen time. “I don’t know who’s fault it is [that the scenes were cut]. I hope it’s not my fault! If they have another one and I’m lucky enough to be in it, I would love for just like a massive moment where we finally know what her powers are and what they look like. And she unleashes like the Phoenix! Awww, that would be awesome!”

With a New Mutants film to focus on the younger members of the team, people have wondered if mutants like Jubilee will be featured in it. Condor replied about this saying she doesn’t know if her character will be included, but she would love to return to the role. “I’ve read blogs about it, rumors type of thing. I would love to be in it. No one has told me anything… for this exact reason, but I would love to be a part of it. I don’t even… It’s still going to be part of the franchise… I don’t know anything about it.”

Condor added that she loved Jubilee’s attitude and says that’s the best quality of her character.

She’s super independent and I’m going about it like she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her. And confident. She’s 16 years old and so I’d love for other 16 year-olds or teenagers to see that. I think she’s a role model, you know? Be yourself, don’t give an F about what anyone thinks about you because the only opinion that matters is your own. I like her a lot.

Do you guys think that Jubilee deserves to be let loose in a future X-Men film?
