Albert HughesAlpha (2018) movie trailer stars Kodi Smit-McPhee, Natassia Malthe, Leonor Varela, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Mercedes de la Zerda. Alpha‘s plot synopsis: “Alpha is an epic adventure set in the last Ice Age. Europe, 20,000 years ago. While on his first hunt, an initiation to his tribe’s most elite group, a young man, Zeta, is injured and left for dead after a bison hunt goes horribly wrong.

Awaking to find himself broken, alone, and miles from his village – he must learn to survive and navigate the harsh and unforgiving wilderness. Reluctantly taming a lone wolf, Alpha, abandoned by its pack, the pair learn to rely on each other to hunt and become unlikely allies, enduring countless dangers and overwhelming odds in order to find their way home before the deadly winter arrives.”

This film immediately reminded me of 10,000 B.C. because of its setting and garb of its characters but that is where the comparisons end. Alpha seems as though it will be a far richer film than the aforementioned film. From what is on-screen in this trailer, Alpha looks as though it will be Rated-R. For environment and the threats that Zeta (Kodi Smit-McPhee) will face, that seems appropriate.

Alpha also stars Jens Hultén, Marcin Kowalczyk, Priya Rajaratnam, Spencer Bogaert, Patrick Flanagan, Louis Lay, Kyle Glenn Thomas, Michael Kruse-Dahl, and Blake Point.

Alpha‘s script was written by Daniele Sebastian Wiedenhaupt. Alpha was produced by Andrew Rona and Albert Hughes.
