ARROW: John Barrowman To Become Regular In Related Shows [THE CW]

John Barrowman is set to become a regular in The CW‘s DC shows. The Arrow actor will play an important role on the network’s other superhero shows in addition to his current role on the program.

The announcement reflects the recent deal reached between The CW and Legends of Tomorrow‘s Wentworth Miller, who is now also set to be a regular on all of the network’s DC properties. The exact purpose of these moves are unknown at this point, but one thing for sure is that audiences will be seeing a lot more of Barrowman and Miller on The CW:

That means we could end up seeing Malcolm Merlyn/The Dark Archer in everything from Supergirl to The Flash, but why the character is getting this expanded role remains to be seen. It was back in May that executive producer Greg Berlanti explained: “What it really emulates to us is the comic books themselves, where there really are a cast of characters. In success, we hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows.” It’s an interesting approach, that’s for sure.

This deal obviously doesn’t mean that Barrowman will be in every episode of The Flash‘s third season, but he could for example make sporadic appearances both there and in Legends of Tomorrow thanks to this new deal. It was back in 2011 that Arrow launched, and since then, The CW has created a shared world for their characters which so far appears to be outshining the DC Films Universe.

**** We hired Reggie, fulfilled our obligations to him, and he quit in the middle of covering two TV series w/ no notice and no explanation. He then ignored our emails asking him to complete his coverage (we had no one else to cover those TV shows). He didn't care. We regret hiring him and we regret putting our trust in him. **** An aspiring writer, longtime film junkie, and former UCLARadio.com disc jockey (where I graduated with a BA in Political Science), I've made the jump from penning book reviews and current events editorials for HonorSociety.org to writing movie and TV news and reviews. When I'm not working towards my certificate in Radio and Television/Video Production at Fullerton College, I enjoy reading (horror, science fiction, and historical/political nonfiction are particular favorites), participating in my school's TV and theatre clubs, attending movie screenings, plays, concerts, and other events, and trying to come up with pithy things to say on social media. Believe it or not, there are occasions where I find time to write for my own leisure.
