Box Office

Box Office: April 29-May 1, 2011: FAST FIVE, RIO

Vin Diesel, Elsa Pataky, Fast Five

Fast money for a racing movie. Fast Five premiered in the Number One spot at the box office this weekend with $83.6 Million. I do not think anyone was expecting such a large take from Fast Five. It seems Universal Studios was right to prep The Fast and the Furious 6. Rio was Second with $14.4 Million for $103.6 Million so far. Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family was Third with $10 Million. Water for Elephants was Fourth with $9.1 Million. Prom premiered in Fifth with $5 Million. Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (which premiered this weekend), Soul Surfer, Insidious, Hop, and Source Code rounded out the top ten respectively.
