Yo Joe! G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra premiered in Number One spot at the box office this weekend with $56.2 Million. Many thought the film might tank in its first weekend, including me. We were all wrong. Whether it makes back its $175 Million production budget plus its marketing budget remains to be seen. Julie and Julia premiered in Second Place with $20.1 Million. G-Force was Third with $9.8 Million. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was Fourth $8.8 Million for $273.8 Million so far. Funny People was Fifth with $7.86 Million. The Ugly Truth, A Perfect Getaway (which premiered this weekend), Aliens in the Attic, Orphan, and (500) Days of Summer round out the top ten respectively.
