Box Office

Box Office: Sept. 12-14, 2008

burn poster

The Coen Brothers spy tale debuts at the top over the weekend. Burn After Reading debuted this weekend at the box office in First Place with $19.4 Million. The second premiere of the weekend, Tyler Perry’s The Family That Preys, was Second with $18 Million. The third premiere of the weekend, Righteous Kill, was Third with $16.5 Million. I really thought Righteous Kill would have done better but since the reviews haven’t been glowing, I’m not really surprised. The fourth premiere this weekend at the box office, The Women (2008), was Fourth with $10 Million. In Fifth Place was The House Bunny with $4.3 Million. Tropic Thunder, The Dark Knight, Bangkok Dangerous, Traitor and Death Race round out the top ten respectively.
