CONAN THE BARBARIAN (2011) Teaser Trailer: Marcus Nispel, Jason Momoa

Jason Momoa, Conan the Barbarian

The Conan the Barbarian Teaser Trailer has been released. Marcus Nispel‘s Conan the Barbarian (2011) stars Jason Momoa, Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, Bob Sapp, and Rachel Nichols. Conan the Barbarian (2011)’s plot synopsis: “After his father is murdered and village destroyed, Conan ventures into an unforgiving world where he survives as a thief, pirate, and warrior. On his path of wanton adventure and women, Conan chances upon the warlord responsible his tribe’s destruction. As he tracks Khalar Zym, Conan battles monsters, Zym’s henchmen, and Marique, a powerful witch.” The smoke effect is cool and different but I wanted to see undisguised film footage and the clips within context from scenes from the film. This is a authentic teaser trailer and that is all it does, tease. I did like some of the sword play of Jason Momoa and the appearance of some of the characters (pictured here: Conan (2011): Rachel Nichols, Rose McGowan, New Stills, and Behind-the-Scenes Photo and here: Conan the Barbarian: Empire Magazine April 2011 Stephen Lang, Jason Momoa Photos) but like I said, they are all out of context at this point. I’m looking forward to the full movie trailer though. I really wish they had left Conan the Barbarian alone as I doubt anything will top Conan the Barbarian (1982) and didn’t remake it. I was also hoping that when Arnold Schwarzenegger’s public office term was up we would finally get John Milius‘ King Conan but that was not to be. Watch the Conan the Barbarian teaser trailer below and leave your thoughts on it. Conan the Barbarian will be released on August 19, 2011.
