DAREDEVIL (2015): Charlie Cox Talks About Daredevil

Charlie Cox Matt Murdock

Charlie Cox Discusses Daredevil’s Journey. Actor Charlie Cox had no idea what he gotten himself into when he took on the lead role for Marvel’s new Netflix series Daredevil. He explained how his career went up during his interview with Heat Vision.

During a premiere event of his latest movie The Theory of Everything, Charlie spoke with the outlet on the burden he took to play Daredevil. “It’s great fun, but it also comes with a great deal of responsibility,” Cox said. “I wasn’t really aware of how vast the comic book world was until I became part of the Marvel universe. I went to Comic Con last week, and it’s really important to a lot of people. It really is. I’m having a great time.”

Cox had a notion that The Man Without Fear would be inspired by Frank Miller’s version after putting on the black ninja stealth suit. “I’ve read comics after comics after comics – I’ve never read so many comics in my life, and we’re finding moments from the comics to reference in the show,” Cox explained. “We’re trying to make a show that’s new and much, much darker than anything I’ve ever seen Marvel do before. The concept that he can’t stop. He’s going out and he’s taking the law into his own hands, and he doesn’t know if he can stop. He might be addicted to it.”

Marvel’s Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, a man who was blinded as a young boy but gifted with extraordinary senses. He fights injustice by day as a lawyer, but fights crime at night as the superhero Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen, New York.
