DIE HARD 5: GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD Auditions Son Role

Bruce Willis, Live Free or Die Hard

Ben Foster, Paul Dano, Aaron Paul, Paul Walker, and Milo Ventimiglia are auditioning for the son role in Die Hard 5 entitled A Good Day to Die Hard. Auditioning for the son role in A Good Day to Die Hard by “Ben Foster (The Mechanic), Paul Dano (Knight & Day), Aaron Paul (‘Breaking Bad‘), Paul Walker (Fast and Furious) and Milo Ventimiglia (‘Heroes’)” validates the plot line for the upcoming 5th Die Hard mentioned here: Die Hard 5: Titled A Good Day to Die Hard, Plot Details.

Apparently the role of John McClane (Bruce Willis)’s son has far bigger implications for the franchise than were previously made public.

there’s a train of thought that says the film could easily set up a passing of the franchise torch to McClane’s son. Now this has even more of a dangerous relationship to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull since that seemed to be an idea that was circling around Shia LaBeouf’s character in the disappointing sequel. A similar tactic is being used with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol with Jeremy Renner’s character being set-up to inherit the action franchise. Honestly, I’m not sure I’m up for a Die Hard franchise without John McClane.

Trying to pass the torch is a bad idea but Hollywood is known for fast-tracking bad ideas that turn into bad movies. Hopefully this one will not come to fruition.

What are your thoughts on Ben Foster, Paul Dano, Aaron Paul, Paul Walker, and Milo Ventimiglia auditioning for Die Hard 5? Who is your choice for the role? What are your thoughts on the prospect of a Die Hard movie without John McClane? Personally, if I had to see a Die Hard film starring the off-spring of John McClane, I would rather see one starring Lucy McClane (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
