Warner Bros. Releases First Look Photo of Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides in Dune

The official movie photography of Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides in Dune (2020) has been released. The Dune movie image features Chalamet in a black, modern-looking overcoat, shirt, and pants, a far more contemporary version of Paul than fans of Frank Herbert‘s seminal sci-fi novel were expecting.

The Dune image seems to be taking place on Atreides home planet of Caladan.

Chalamet had this to say about the role of Paul Atreides in Dune:

“The immediately appealing thing about Paul was the fact that in a story of such detail and scale and world-building, the protagonist is on an anti-hero’s-journey of sorts. He thinks he’s going to be sort of a young general studying his father and his leadership of a fighting force before he comes of age, hopefully a decade later, or something like that.”

Cast and crew

Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, and Josh Brolin.
