Thoughts on This Week’s In-home Releases

The home releases of Mr. Malcolm’s List, Top Gun: Maverick, and DC League of Super-Pets, are the most noteworthy releases (and pre-orders) on home video and streaming services this week.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Malcolm’s List and had this to say about the film:

Mr. Malcolm’s List is a delight. Even the smallest cast members (such as Divian Ladwa’s John who wears a powdered wig and is essentially just the “help”) get their moments to shine beside the obvious stars–Pinto and Dirisu. This film should have audiences cheering at the end as it reveals touching and precious insights on life that are more believable than they could have been in a lesser film.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Top Gun: Maverick and had this to say about the film:

Top Gun: Maverick is a true Hollywood blockbuster which could make one wish for a return to viewing the original picture to see just how cool Maverick has remained throughout the years.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed DC League of Super-Pets and had this to say about the film:

DC League of Super-Pets is the type of movie that has a lot of heart alongside its scenes of good and evil fighting to save (or takeover) the planet. I liked that the movie always made the most of each voice-over performer’s individual talents, seizing the unique qualities of the likes of McKinnon and Bayer to make their characters leap off the screen.
