A Poet

Simón Mesa Soto's Colombian comedy-drama, winner of the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at Cannes, stars first-time actor Ubeimar Rios as Oscar, a middle-aged poet in Medellín whose writing career never took off. Out of work, drinking heavily and living with his family, he sees a possible way back when he agrees to mentor a young student. Mesa Soto also wrote the screenplay.
