HAIL, CAESAR! (2016) Movie Trailer 2: The Coen Brothers & A Goofy George Clooney

Hail, Caesar!‘s plot synopsis: “The [film] follows [Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin)], a studio fixer who has to find a way to rescue his kidnapped star (Clooney) in the middle of production on the biggest release of the year.”

According to Slashfilm, “It’s been about eight years since we’ve gotten a straight up comedy from Joel and Ethan Coen. Inside Llewyn Davisand True Grit had some funny moments, but this is clearly the Coen Brothers going for laughs. And the fact that it’s set in old Hollywood just has me even more excited. It’s certainly one that I can’t wait to see when it hits theaters next month.”

I couldn’t agree more! I love Coen Brothers comedies, and thought Burn After Reading (2008) was one of the funniest, most underrated comedies of the decade. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, and brought us an even more heightened, goofier version of George Clooney’s that the Coens already graciously gave us in the (admittedly mediocre) Intolerable Cruelty (2003). I can’t wait. Plus, this cast, alone, is highly impressive.

Hail, Caesar! also stars Dolph Lundgren, Jonah Hill, Tilda Swinton, David Krumholtz, Frances McDormand, Clancy Brown, Christopher Lambert, Fisher Stevens, Patrick Fischler, and Robert Picardo.
