Plot Synopsis

Nightmare Alley’s plot synopsis: based on the novel by William Lindsay Gresham, “In NIGHTMARE ALLEY, an ambitious carny (Bradley Cooper) with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.”

In it, Bradley Cooper plays “Stan,” a charismatic carny who works as an assistant to a carnival fortune-teller (Toni Collette). In the hopes of making it on his own as a world-famous mentalist, Stan finds himself striking up a relationship with an alluring and scheming psychologist (played by Cate Blanchett). And things only get weirder from there.
