Peacock Orders One of Us is Lying TV Series

NBC‘s streaming service Peacock has ordered the TV adaptation of One of Us is Lying. The TV series is based on the novel by Karen M. McManus and will be eight episodes long. The Peaccock TV series will star: Annalisa Cochrane, Barrett Carnahan, Chibuikem Uche, Cooper van Grootel, Jessica McLeod, Marianly Tejada, and Melissa Collazo. Jennifer Morrison directed the pilot episode of this mystery TV series.

On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.

Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon’s dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. Peacock has picked up young adult mystery drama ONE OF US IS LYING to series with an eight-episode order. Based on the bestselling novel of the same title by Karen M. McManus, ONE OF US IS LYING is the story of what happens when five high schoolers walk into detention and only four make it out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.

ONE OF US IS LYING features an ensemble cast starring Marianly Tejada (“The Purge”), Cooper van Grootel (“Go!”), Annalisa Cochrane (“Into the Dark: Pure”), Chibuikem Uche (“Ghost Draft”), Barrett Carnahan (“Grown-ish”), Jessica McLeod (“You Me Her”) and Melissa Collazo (“Swamp Thing”).

ONE OF US IS LYING is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. Darío Madrona (co-creator of “Elite”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Erica Saleh (“Evil”) wrote the pilot and will executive produce. Saleh is represented by ICM, Writ Large, and attorney Jared Levine. The series is also executive produced by John Sacchi and Matt Groesch of 5 More Minutes Productions who developed the pilot. Filmmaker and actress Jennifer Morrison directed and produced the pilot.

Madrona has been working for more than 15 years on Spanish television. He became head writer for the first time at the age of 27 (“Genesis, en la Mente del Asesino”), was in the charge of the Spanish remake of the British show (“Life on Mars”), (“La Chica de Ayer”), and co-created shows like (“Los Protegidos”), (“Vive cantando”), and (“Elite”), which he also executive produced. Madrona is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen et al.
