If you’re a Flight of The Conchords fan, this trailer should at the very least remind you how great Jermaine Clement’s disposition, attitude and delivery is. He’s wonderful to watch, and even though this seems like a very familiar movie (any mid-life crisis “dramedy”), it could be interesting enough based solely on Clement’s addition.

A lot of this even looks like a TV film, at parts, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. If I watch this, it will be for the naturalistic yet comedically heightened Clement role, and the satisfaction and catharsis of watching a man who has fallen pick himself up again. It’s just a story we all engage with, and it will always work. Hopefully this film brings more to the table than that, though. We’ll have to see.

People, Places, Things also stars Stephanie AllynneAundrea GadsbyGia GadsbyDerrick Arthur, and Celia Au.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
