Ridley Scott Thinks He Can Make as Much as Three Sequels to Prometheus. Ridley Scott recently announced that his next film project would be Prometheus 2, which starts production early next year. However, the director hinted at possibly making more films for the franchise.

In an interview with FilmFutter, Ridley Scott told them that he could possibly do as much as three sequels for Prometheus while also confirming a connection with his other film Alien.

Yes, but it won’t be in the next one. It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the ‘Alien’ franchise… The whole point of it is to explain the Alien franchise and to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself. I always thought of the Alien as kind of a piece of bacterial warfare. I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction.

Prometheus hasn’t been the sci-fi masterpiece we hoped for, but it did intrigue audiences so making more films for the franchise might work to better explain the mythology of this universe. For now, we can at least look forward to Prometheus 2, which will start shooting in February with actors Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace set to return for the sequel.

Do you guys think there should be more films for Prometheus to tell it’s full story?
