The second TV show trailer for Showtime‘s Ray Donovan: Season 4 has been released. The new trailer seems to feature a boxing champion, human trafficking, a person or group is targeting Ray (Liev Schreiber)’s family (probably the Armenians), Ray finds his runaway daughter (Kerris Dorsey), his wife (Paula Malcomson) has a medical issue, and Mickey (Jon Voight) seems as though he is involved in something shady, again.

The boxer seems like a new client who has done something that requires Ray Donovan’s specific skill set to clean up. It also looks like my assumption was wrong about Ray Donovan‘s writers dropping the Armenian story-line. It may be that the Armenians are going after Ray’s family, led by a point person that Ray kidnaps and puts in his truck (in this trailer). With the human trafficking (or human smuggling) shown in this trailer, something the Armenians were involved in last season, it gives credence to the idea that the Armenians are still in play. This might also be the reason why Ray tells his daughter Bridget that she needs to come home so he can protect her. Imagine if the Armenians caught her and human trafficked to some third world country like Carrie-Ann Moss in Models Inc. I don’t believe the writers of Ray Donovan are that sinister plus it would turn part of the series into Taken, with Ray going after her.

Ray Donovan: Season 4’s plot synopsis: “Last season’s intense battle with the Armenian mafia leads a wounded Ray to reconnect with his forsaken faith. With this second chance at redemption, Ray is on a path to becoming a much better husband and father. But while things at home are improving, his work introduces him to worlds more formidable and dangerous than ever before. Meanwhile, Mickey (Jon Voight, in his Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe-winning role) has fled Los Angeles, hoping to plant roots on his own terms and to begin anew, one scam at a time.”

Ray Donovan: Season 4 also stars Lisa Bonet, Embeth Davidtz, Ted Levine, Gabriel Mann, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Chris Coppola, Billy Lush, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, and Devon Bagby.
