“Crawl” and “Maze Runner” star Kaya Scodelario plays a figure skating Olympic hopeful facing intense fear and stress in the official trailer for the new Netflix original series “Spinning Out.”
In the vein of the figure-skating films “The Cutting Edge” and “I, Tonya,” the Samantha Stratton-created streaming drama centers on Kat Baker (Scodelario), an Olympic-quality figure skater who, after recovering from a devastating fall, stages a comeback, despite the chiding of her hateful mother (played by Mad Men’s January Jones).
Evan Roderick (Arrow) also co-stars in the series as a bad-boy skater who becomes Scodelario’s new skating partner.
“Spinning Out” is slated to premiere January 1st on Netflix. Watch the trailer, above.
