The Twilight Saga: Ecslipse Breaks Midnight Screening Box Office Record

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has broken the midnight gross box office record and has become the top earner there in history. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse screened at around 4,000 locations throughout the United States at midnight screenings, earning more than $30 million dollars. Just to put that haul into perspective, that is better than some films this summer have opened to on Fridays where people do not have to go to work the next day. Very impressive.

That surpassed The Twilight Saga: New Moon‘s previous benchmark of $26.3 million. Included in Eclipse’s sum was a new IMAX midnight milestone of over $1 million at 192 venues, topping Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen‘s $959,000.
