AMC has renewed The Walking Dead for a second season. The zombie TV series will get a thirteen episode second season. This was in no small part do to the shows strong showings. “The debut episode of The Walking Dead, written about here: The Walking Dead: Season 1, Ep. 1: Days Gone Bye, was the highest-rated broadcast in AMC’s history, with 5.3 million viewers taking in the opening salvo of Frank Darabont‘s vision of life in America after a zombie apocalypse. The second episode was broadcast…to excellent numbers: 4.7 million.” We wrote about the second episode here: The Walking Dead: Season 1, Ep. 2: Guts. AMC knows a hit when they see and jumped at keeping a Hollywood-grade director and his TV Show on their network.
